Rising costs, uncertain funding, growing compliance requirements, and heightened expectations from boards and donors are putting pressure on organizations to be more intentional, transparent, and strategic with their financial resources.

Join the Covington Business Council and Dean Dorton, along with nonprofit leaders and peers, for an engaging Lunch & Learn focused on financial stability readiness and budgeting for nonprofits. This session is designed for Executive Directors, CFOs, finance leaders, board members, and operational decision‑makers who play a role in safeguarding their organization’s long‑term sustainability.

Stephanie Allgeyer, CPA, Assurance Director and Nonprofit Industry Leader at Dean Dorton, and Colleen Swanson, CPA, CFO of 4C for Children will lead a practical discussion grounded in real‑world nonprofit experience. Together, they will explore how strong financial practices support mission delivery — not just today, but well into the future.

This session will focus on practical, actionable insights, including:

What “financial stability readiness” really means for nonprofits today

Common budgeting challenges nonprofits face — and how to address them proactively

Using budgets as strategic tools rather than static documents

Strengthening financial communication with boards and stakeholders
