February Monthly Luncheon: State of Kenton County with Judge Executive Kris Knochelmann

Thursday, February 20, 2025 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (EST)

Description

The State of Kenton County: Join us February 20 at the Grand Events Center when Judge Executive Kris Knochelmann discusses a variety of interesting & relevant business topics including:

  • Construction of a partially underground parking garage with plans for an apartment complex behind the Kenton County Administration building
  • The County’s role in attracting Northern Kentucky University's Salmon P. Chase College of Law and the University of Kentucky School of Medicine's Northern Kentucky campus to Covington
  • The enhanced visibility of the entrepreneurial community through Blue North’s Sparkhaus, backed by the County, at the former site of Sim's Furniture on Madison Avenue, south of 7th Street
  • Kenton County’s Site Readiness Initiative, designed to increase the number of manufacturing company’s here in spite of the lack of developable sites.

Kris has lived his whole life in Kenton County (Taylor Mill and Covington). He’s the youngest of nine children and began working for the family’s plumbing and heating business at age 15. He and wife Lisa now own Schneller and Knochelmann Plumbing Heating and Air, with more than 100 employees in the region. Kris is a tireless advocate for government efficiency and effectiveness and has played a critical role in shaping what Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has become today through reorganizing the board and setting up a work environment that has allowed retiring CEO Candace McGraw to turn CVG into a major economic regional driver. While being an obvious advocate of big business, Kris has never forgotten his entrepreneurial roots by strongly supporting private enterprise and job creation.
