Sharmili is the Executive Director of Planning and Development Services of Kenton County which provides planning, community development, zoning, code enforcement, building, engineering and GIS services to 20 jurisdictions in Kenton County, KY. Prior to that, she served as the City Administrator for Fort Mitchell, KY where she oversaw the daily operations of the City and managed a budget that funded seven departments.
Sharmili has always been involved with various efforts in the Northern Kentucky community. Due to her contributions, Sharmili has been honored with the American Society of Public Administrators Greater Cincinnati Chapter's career achievement award, Outstanding Woman of the Year, 40 under 40 award sponsored by the Cincinnati Business Courier, YWCA's Rising Star award, Legacy's Next Generation Leadership Award in the Government category as well as the Skyward Salutes Award.
Planning and Development Services of Kenton County (PDS) is a public sector organization focused on promoting community development, growth, and safety. PDS serves 20 local jurisdictions in Kenton County, including the county itself and 19 cities. It is responsible for managing building codes, community development, infrastructure engineering, planning, zoning, and code enforcement. Additionally, PDS acts as the managing partner of the LINK-GIS Partnership, which provides geographic information services to various entities in Kenton, Campbell, and Pendleton Counties.
